Painful feeding - help!
My 5 month old sucks on the bottle and then immediately spits the bottle out and cries so much, but then frantically sucks on the bottle again because she’s clearly hungry. I thought it was gas so I would stop and burp her and sometimes that helps but it seems to be happening more and more and I don’t know what to do. It’s always worse in the afternoon, but never happens during night feeds when she’s sleepy. It also always stops as soon as she relaxes and falls asleep while sucking. Poor girl seems like it’s so painful. I am currently using size 1 teets and I’ve tried size 2 but it doesn’t seem to make a difference so I don’t think it’s that. Has this happened to anyone’s else baby?

Is she teething or frustrated because she’s very hungry?
She’s not teething and this has been happening for a while now 🥹 I do think she’s very hungry so maybe I should try feeding her early so it’s less frantic! But when I feed her when she’s not very hungry she plays with the bottle and doesn’t drink! 🤣
Mine does this too but is breastfed and also mostly does it in the afternoon. I think it is when she is tired + very hungry. So I try to make sure I catch hunger early x
It's worth checking for thrush if she seems in pain as it can cause discomfort when they're feeding. That or teething are the most probable causes.
I had to change the teat for the time of day! So when I knew he was super hungry his day feeds I would do a 2 teat and then bedtime was a 1! It can take them a little bit of getting use to when you up a test and can look a bit off putting for the first few tries but they get use to it eventually xx
