How do you go about getting a restraining order on somebody? i’m currently pregnant with this man’s baby, but I just don’t feel safe around him. he’s hitting my other children a few times he’s threatened me that if I don’t remain a relationship or attempt a relationship him and his family would make my life a living hell where they would try to get custody and he admitted it would be for his selfish ways pretty much so the baby isn’t always with me, but would be raised by his parents while he’s at work just as long that the baby is with his family and not always with me. He’s trying to tell me that I can’t move trying to tell me that I can’t talk to my family about everything. There’s just so much stuff, but I’m not going to list every little detail. even though some of the incidents occurred two months ago and a few weeks ago will the court laugh me off for reporting it now if I didn’t report it sooner? I’m at a loss on what to do. I thought my parents would be more understanding and supportive, but they’re telling me that trying to get a lawyer now or court involved would be foolish and they wouldn’t do anything until the baby is born and I feel like if I were to bring up why would wanna restraining order against him if they would help me or go with me they would judge me hard-core and say that I’m being petty. (Even though my mother always had negative suspicions against this guy herself) I just absolutely hate the situation I’m in and it makes me physically sick and constantly worried.
