Does anyone enjoy just being a mum?

As in you are fulfilled by being a mum and not having a career per se?

Would like to hear from all perspectives!

I don't think just being a mum would be fulfilling for me. I'm very career driven and want my kids to see what I am capable of as well as being a mum x

Not me 🤭 I feel awful saying it but I never wanted to "just" be a mum. I've always worked and I enjoy my job. I worked hard to have my career. I love the mix of being a mum and working.
I gives me money, freedom and a bit of socialisation I wouldn't get if I was home 24/7

I couldn’t be at home full time I’d go stir crazy! I love my kids more than anything and I cherish the time we spend together but I need something that’s mine too! I need to engage my brain and I think it’s great for children to broaden their horizons too. My son came along tenfold developmentally at nursery. He goes 3 days and spends 4 at home with us and that’s the perfect mix for our family, my youngest will do the same from a year.

Working allows us lots of lovely days out, lots of holidays, treats etc. If I didn’t work things would be much tighter for us as I’m the higher earner x

I would have never thought that I would be. I worked hard, and I loved the challenge and mental stimulation of my job. However, my first was born with a genetic condition, and so I had to give up my job to be a SAHM with her.

We've since gone on to have more children, and I haven't worked now for almost 4 years. I found the adjustment hard, and once they are all in school, I will definitely go back. However, I have learnt to really embrace the opportunity to be at home with my babies and soak up these precious years. I feel very lucky, and they have undoubtedly been the happiest years of my life. I think a good mindset is that you CAN have it all, just not always all at the same time...
