Travelling whilst on Mat Leave
Hi All, I don’t want to waste my maternity leave sitting at home next year (due in December) so I’m thinking about doing some travelling with my baby and toddler. I know it’s not going to be easy travelling on my own with two little ones, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s done anything similar!
My husband would join us for the odd weekend here and there, but he wouldn’t be with us for the whole trip as he’d have to be working. I’m considering doing a month in Dubai, so if anyone has done something similar there, or has any other ideas of places that would be good with a baby and toddler please let drop me a message 🙏

I dont want to be negative but I found going from 1-2 really hard especially with a toddler.. I couldn’t even leave the house without insane stress.. especially the first 12 weeks.
Id wait until you have baby to make any choices tbh x
The reason I say wait until baby is born as you’ve no idea how your baby will be too. My second had such bad colic / reflux etc x
As above I’d say wait and see what baby’s like then actually just be as spontaneous as you can be as that’s how you’ll get the good deals! Spain and Italy are great for babies, I’ve also heard Amsterdam is fab, and Lisbon x
If you are open to exploring Asia, would highly recommend Singapore. It's a highly efficient and well planned city, and we found it extremely convenient to get around, even with using public transport. Most places are 15 minutes or less away, pedestrian walkways are shaded which make exploring the city easy with a stroller, lots of baby/family friendly restaurants and attractions.
We did a month travelling, but together as a family as my partner did shared parental leave so we shared our time. We went to Spain, it was fantastic - baby was 6 months and older sister was 3. Hard at times, but worth it. We’re expecting number 3 in December and planning a month in France. So not big exotic travelling, but still hopefully making lovely memories
