Mat leave start date?

Any teachers on here know when they are hoping to finish for mat leave?! Need to let my head know in September! Thank you

I'm due December 5th and I'm toying between November 2nd and November 6th. That way I have around 4 weeks (hopefully) before baby gets here. I'm going back in July so I get paid over summer too 😅

I'm due December 30th have no idea when to say Im going to go off. With having the six weeks break it's hard to know how you're going to feel and cope once back at work isn't it x

I have put my maternity start date as 16/11/2026 at 37 weeks as I had my first at 38 weeks! I went off at 36 weeks with my first as it was a lot being on my feet all day. You can always change your mind, just need to give 28 days notice

Does anyone know how in advance you have to give the date?
