Am I over thinking!

I am a full time mom of 13 months old baby girl. My husband does nights. So I have my mother in law staying with us and taking care of my daughter. Though she takes really good care of my daughter. I work 12hrs shift and have to pick up extra shifts as well at times for obvious reasons (extra money).

Lately I have started realising that my daughter is more attached to my husband ( for which i am happy about) and also my MIL. Now this part scares me out coz i am not getting that much time to spend with my daughter and this kills me everyday. Before anyone says take some off from work, i cant coz I am on visa.

Also she tries to control me and dont let me spend more time with her. Alway keeps telling me, its her nap time, feeding time etc. In a way she is trying to tell me that she takes care of her and loves her more than me ( her mother🙄).

We dont have anyother option like free child care and all for obvious reasons (Visa). Its really hard for me to cope up with situation.

Any Suggestions?

It sounds frustrating and thank you for sharing your story.

It’s so unfair that the economy doesn’t allow moms to be moms full time moms. I’m sorry you need to work more hours to make ends meet. This is what makes you more than a mom, but a super mom star.⭐️

You are indeed lucky to have your mother-in-law to help. Childcare is very expensive. My mother-in-law would not come by everyday to care for her grandkids unfortunately. :(

I say write in a journal all that you are experiencing. Express your frustrations and write about the extra hours and how you are feeling left out as a mom.i feel it’s good as a reference for later in life when your daughter will wonder why you weren’t around as often and the journal will explain a lot.

You are still the mom, so if you want to break the rules sometimes with changing the nap routines so you can spend more time with her, that’s fine. Just be polite with your MIL, because some mother in laws are touchy. Just be grateful you have her. 🩷

Being a working mom is definitely not easy and comes with it’s challenges, but i commend you for being the Super Mom ⭐️ that you are needed to care for the family’s needs
