Do I have a say?
So my baby is nearly a year old, when she was about 3 weeks old my MIL got her name tattooed which I feel like she should of asked as I wanted to get one done first but I got over it as it’s her first grandchild.
Shes come over today asking for a portrait of my babies face so she can get that tattooed.
I’m not a fan of portrait tattoos (personal preference) as if they go wrong I just think it’s disrespectful to have someone’s face tattooed on you when it’s disfigured/ wrong.
I really don’t want her to get my daughter’s face tattooed for that reason but also it’s my daughter, I don’t want her face tattooed on someone.
Am I being unreasonable? It doesn’t sit right with me but I feel like as it’s her body I don’t really have say..

I agree with you, I wouldnt want my son's face tattooed on someone else! I think it would be fair to say you would rather she didnt get the portrait done, but also be prepared that she will likely get her own photo of your daughter and do it anyway 🙄
Can you speak to her about it and come up with a compromise, like a silhouette of her for example? Yes it her body, but the end of the day it’s your child’s face she’d be walking around with. (If that makes sense)
Sorry, not a fan of them either, as seen some horrors walking around.
You could say really it's up to your LO and to wait until she can consent to her face being on someone else's body for eternity xx
Totally agree. I wouldn't want someone else tattooing my baby's face on them. Id also be super pissed about the name too. Especially if she didn't ask first. X
The name I have no issue with, I don't know why she wants to get a portrait now too though. Bit much. I agree if it's not perfect it'll look awful
If you don't want it I agree, you are the mother so it's your choice. Not theirs.
