Baby shower disappointment
My baby shower is tomorrow and, after planning it for quite a while, a lot of my friends have ended up cancelling — including some quite last minute. I completely understand that life happens and people have genuine reasons for not being able to make things, so I’m not saying people have to drop everything for me.
But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a little hurt and disappointed, especially as it now looks like it’ll mainly be family attending. I think I had this picture in my head of celebrating such a big milestone with my closest friends, and it’s just ended up feeling a bit different. I also recently moved to the other side of the country so this was really the last time I’d see everyone before baby is born - due October.
I’m still really grateful for everyone who is coming and I’m determined to enjoy tomorrow, but I think the last-minute cancellations have knocked my confidence/excitement a little bit. Has anyone else experienced this with their baby shower or another big milestone? How did you stop yourself from letting the disappointment overshadow the day? 🤍

Completely understandable 🤍 You can understand why people have had to cancel and still feel hurt/disappointed. I think it’s especially hard when you’ve pictured the day a certain way. Try to focus on the people who are there and the fact that they’ve made the effort to celebrate you and your baby. I hope you have the loveliest day tomorrow — enjoy every minute! 🥹🤍
It’s so normal to feel this way especially when you’ve put so much effort into your baby shower. You’ve acknowledged that people have genuine reasons for missing out and cancelling last minute and that really does suck.
For now, think about the people who are going to be there enjoying the day. They made the effort, they’re looking forward to it and they want to show you all the love and also baby is coming so soon! That’s the most exciting thing ever. take lots of pictures and enjoy every single moment and all the love being poured into you and baby that day 🥰
