Moving and changing midwives

If you know your new address you can just self refer at the nearest hospital. You can ask your current midwife for your notes to give to the next one. At the new one they should book you in for that “first booking appointment” then you can just share your notes and tell them you moved. It’s pretty easy x

Yes that’s right - I recently just moved from London to Exeter. I had my 12 week scan in London, and at the appointment they booked my next one and I told them I wasn’t going to be here - they advised me to keep my London appointment just until I was fully transferred over to Devon. I did the self referral form online and within days I was all up and registered to Exeter and had some new appointments come through- then I called up London midwife team and they discharged me. My last pregnancy I rang the local community midwife board and told them I wanted a different midwife I knew who I wanted tho at the time then within about a day or 2 it was changed x

In my first pregnancy I moved countries and it was soo easy to get a midwife appointment for me. As soon as I registered with a GP and self referred, I got a call and got booked in for my next appointment
