Sleep troubles

Anyone else’s 6 week old wake up every 10-30 minutes?

We have genuinely tried everything to get this baby to sleep longer stretches, more food, less food, different bassinets, different swaddles, different feeding techniques, putting her down when she’s so asleep she’s limp, putting her down when she’s drowsy but awake…. Etc. She will only sleep longer than 30 minutes if she is on one of us and we don’t cosleep (makes us too anxious) so I just have to lay awake basically from 3 am and beyond because that is when my “shift” starts with her. I feel like I am literally dying because with 10-30 minute stretches it’s like cry, soothe, sleep 10 minutes, wake up, cry, soothe, sleep 10 minutes 🫩

Chest sleeping/ co sleeping was the answer for us.

We gave up and found a way to sleep with our LO on the couch because our mental wellbeing needed the sleep

I’m in the same exact boat right now! I thought she went through her growth spurt troubles at 5 weeks, but it’s so much worse this week. (She was doing soooo good too). The only way we can get her to sleep for a longer period of time rn, is if I just keep her latched and let her lay on my breastfeeding pillow(my Brest friend). We also are too anxious to cosleep so it’s been quite the time.

Wow I’ve been quietly freaking out because my 6 week old is doing the same exact thing, I’m sorry for everyone going through this but glad to hear it’s not just us!

What worked for my boys is paying extra attention to their daytime routine. Full feeds frequently, restful naps, and keeping them awake and engaged during wake windows. It’s never too early to start routines!

Get a baby lounger and put it on the bed. Sleep with them in the C position while they are inside the lounger. It works and keeps them safe.

My first was like that at night, he had terrible colic and gas issues. We had to basically just wait it out till it got better. My current newborn is 6 weeks and had a terrible last week where she was waking every hour. The past two days we have been keeping her daytime naps shortened and not optimal conditions (room with lights on, daytime noise, and waking her up if she’s sleeping longer than 2 hrs), it has definitely helped her night sleeping.

But it very well could be just gas and colic which as far as I know, that’s a wait it out situation and so sucks! Hang in there, it is normal

Chestsleeping was our solution! Our 4 week old was the same, no longer than 10-15 minute sleeps at night if in the bassinet. Chestsleeping, she sleeps like a dream. One to two wakes a night, always at exactly the same time, sleeps from 12:30am-8:30/9am. Chestsleeping solved all our specific issues- she hates being on her back, being swaddled while she sleeps, and prefers some level of contact. I’m a light sleeper and my partner is a heavy sleeper, so I use our U shaped pregnancy pillow around myself as a bumper to keep her stationary on my chest, and to create space between her dad and I. But if neither of you is a light sleeper, please disregard this entire comment!

I can relate! Baby boy is is coming up on 7 weeks. They say baby’s wake window is 1 to 1 1/2 hour. That’s bs! My baby is awake almost throughout the whole day with 20 minute naps here and there. At night he’ll stay asleep up to 3 hours because the room is dark. Think it has something to do with growth spurt. Hoping he grows out of it. Momma I’m sorry I don’t have any tips but I wanna let you know you’re not the only one!
