Advice for eczema flares

Does anyone have any advice or what to use to prevent eczema flares?

LO has severe wide spread eczema. Dermatologist keeps giving stronger steroids and steroids only work when using, as soon as I go down to twice a week the skin flares back up and peels all over.

I have tried drought secret, balmonds etc. I’m lost. Absolutely drained and can’t cope with the constant itching and sleepless nights for nearly 6 months now. Any advice that could help please 😭 I can’t cope anymore

Every LO is different but my little one got prescribed strong steroids but like you said only works when using them and I wasn’t comfortable using them all the time so the doctor then prescribed her Zeroveen Emollient cream for day time and then Dermol 500 lotion for in her bath, them two together have worked wonders for her! If you haven’t tried those already highly recommend!

I hope you find something that works for you and your little one 🤞🏻 it is so frustrating during the period of trying to find things that actually work!

Peeling isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Flakes is the skin renewing.

I was experiencing the same with my baby and it was an awful time! We ended up on the dr Aran regime as recommended to me by a mum I met at a baby class. When I say our lives changed jn 24 hours I’m not exaggerating. In 5 days his eczema was clear. Now he gets some mild flares. Do some research on the regime. It’s not given on the NHS so it’s a bit pricey. But it’s worth every penny x

What are you washing him with? That could make the difference. I thought my baby was having heat rash (his body full with tiny little red spots) but it was from the soap and lotion. We now use oilatum emollient wash and oilatum cream
