CMPA/Colic/Normal newborn??

My little one is 6 weeks old. From about a week old he cried uncontrollably ALL of the time he was awake, looked in pain and had masses of wind. He was prescribed Nutramigen and we saw a 50% improvement in that he doesn’t scream or cry in pain anymore but he is ridiculously windy still.

We can’t put him down to sleep without him waking up with wind and is so wriggly most of the time. We spend most of our night attempting to put him down before he gets hungry again and needs a feed. Feeding takes an hour by the time we pace feed and hold him up/wind.

The doctor prescribed Neocate to try but I’m unsure whether to switch. I don’t know if it will improve things as I don’t know how much is CMPA or normal newborn behaviour and I don’t want to upset his stomach even more making the switch if it’s unnecessary.

Has anyone been through similar/ got any advice? I got upset at the GP so fear the neocate was an attempt to make me feel better rather than a necessary move Xx

I hope things get better. We worked with a physical therapist since our babies colic was so bad and tried everything like taking her to a chiropractor. One thing I think that made a difference was our physical therapist, cutting egg out of my diet since I was breastfeeding and then these prebiotic drops that the PT recommended. They are pricey but I swear it helped our little one.
