I'm hoping for a bit of reassurance or some solidarity! My son is just over 9 months and doesn't babble and doesn't seem to know his name although this is variable amoung family members. Certainly for me its massively inconsistent. He is working really hard on crawling..lots of rocking and also sitting from crawling and crawl from sitting. He is also trying to pull up. He is generally quite a quiet kid. He does scream, squeals, coo and lots of ahhhs! Uhs and raspberries. Any similar experiences? X

Honestly don’t worry about it. Every kid is going to develop at their own pace and there is a huge spectrum for what’s normal. Plus is basically a rite of passage for a new mom to be neurotic about their first hitting st least one of their milestones and 90% of the time it’s fine.
My girl still ignores her name half the time when she’s distracted and she’s 14 months. She still only has 4 words and speaks mostly in silly babbles and charades. She didn’t crawl until 9/10 months and didn’t walk until 12.5 months.
It’s fine. He’s fine. You’re doing a good job and everything is fine.

I would say you're ok for now. Theres a huge variation in normal at this age, and what they dont do one day, they do the next.
My son has 0 words. Well, he says mama and seems to apply it to me as he will say it while looking for me, and will sometimes shout dada and seem to apply it to anyone who isnt me. He's nearly 11 months.
I seem to remember my daughter being able to say nanna, woof, meow and maybe moo at 11 months. But then there was another baby at our groups who was great at speech. My daughter rolled, sat and crawled before others, others took longer to do those things but spoke sentences sooner.
I am certain everything is fine, and the internet has just lulled you into a false belief! Im absolutely certain your little one is perfect ❤️

Just to add, we had our son's i think 4 month review letter, and his dad and I cried as he couldnt do a n y t h i n g in the milestones. By the time the lady came 2 weeks later, he was doing it all. Hubs and I had been researching how to help disabled children and everything. They will get there. It did take that extreme for me to realise that, and also at the same time, we saw the episode "Baby Race" on Bluey. At the time I was like "its not the same!!! Our son is impaired!!!!!" but no, no, it was me having unrealistic expectations on my son (not that you do!). I didnt realise that even if they dont do any of it on those forms, thats also normal!

I think this all sounds normal. My son didn’t crawl until 10.5 months. He’s just started walking at 16 months. I think he inconsistently responded to his name at that time too. They are still so young and all of a sudden they start doing things. Sounds like you’re doing a great job x
Im at sahm with a 19 month old who cosleeps naps and bedtime. So i literally never without her. I can't do anything in peace which has now resulted in constipation because the girl never gives me a break and whenever I need a poo she decides to have a meltdown so hence the constipation. She won't independently play and even TV doesn't captivate her. Help!

Going through 4 month regression and I’m so tired. I want to co sleep but my baby was born at 36 weeks. So the advice is not to co sleep. I don’t know what to do

Any tips on just getting out more with the baby? She is 3 months old and fights her naps terribly, so once she’s tired she will just scream and in the house I have to stand and rock her so I worry about going out because she will scream in the car and when out in public but I’m going crazy being in the house or just wandering around the streets. It’s really starting to affect me 😢

My 5 week old is unbelievably noisy while asleep so much so I can’t sleep myself, when do they start to get quieter? Google is saying 3 months 🥴

Anyone any tips for preventing this? He’s just turned 4 months and keeps rolling to his side in his sleep and walking up really unsettled, I try put him on his back and he just goes straight back over, I’m obviously worried about suffocation if he can’t one day manage to get himself back on his back

Hi mummas, I’m just wondering if anyone else feels this way since becoming a mum.
How do you feel when it comes to receiving advice from family, friends or other people about your baby and the way you parent?
I completely understand that most people mean well, and sometimes advice can genuinely be helpful. But I’ve noticed that when I’m constantly being told what I should or shouldn’t be doing, or hearing things like “you should do this,” “try this,” or “I used to do it this way,” I can start to feel really frustrated and overwhelmed.
Sometimes I don’t necessarily want advice—I just want to be able to talk about something without feeling like I need to change what I’m doing. I also feel like constantly hearing other people’s opinions can sometimes make you second-guess yourself as a mum, even when you were originally confident in your own decision.
I’m curious whether other mums feel the same way. Do you usually appreciate advice and take it on board, or do you sometimes find yourself becoming frustrated by it? Have you found that becoming a mum has made you want more space to figure things out for yourself and trust your own instincts?
No judgement either way—I’d genuinely love to hear how other mums feel about this.
