Talking

Hi! My 14 month old is only saying 4 words but mainly because we ask him to. Like I don’t even know if he knows what they meant.
Is this like a speech delay or something I should be worried about?
He doesn’t even babble a lot, like all day long. But that’s it.

If your pediatrician isnt worried, I wouldnt be either. My 14 mo can consistently say a version of mom and dad, and the rest is like one syllable words/simplified pet names. Kitty is "kee" some times it sounds like she says cat but it also sounds like dad so 🤷

My almost 15 month is the same way!!

Is your baby gesturing or trying to communicate in other ways?

If so, I think you are fine. At least, that’s what my pediatrician said.

Every kid develops differently and focuses on different skills at different times 😊

Same boat here! My almost 15 month says 2 words & signs 2 words. I wouldn’t be too concerned yet! We are starting early intervention speech therapy but mostly because it’s free through our state. What state are you in?

My 14m old only says dada, brother kitty ,dog and cup for some reason she says butterfly and she barks like a dog. We don’t have a dog. Lol she signed more when she’s hungry or wants more food.
