Midwife appointment

Hi, first pregnancy and I’ve got my first midwife appointment next week. She’s coming to my house, is this normal? Is there anything I need to do in preparation?

is it a midwife or is it a health visitor appointment ?

It is for a midwife! Mine does all our appointments at home. Are you planning a home birth?

The first intake midwife session tends to be a fact find where they do known medical history of you and your partner and talk to you about the pregnancy and they'll do a urine test and blood test although my experience is hospital I'm assuming it may be different at home. But if it's just intake that's approximately 90 mins

Getting the most out of your midwife appointments

Hi all, I just wanted to sense check I am getting the most out of my midwife appointment. Currently 31 weeks with my first baby, so it could be my own misconceptions about what actually happens at these appointments. But I feel overall very clueless, my appointments feel the same urine/blood test, hear thr heartbeat, do you feel safe at home, see you next time.

I thought we would have more discussions about things I should be knowing like vitamins, top tips, feeding/birthing plans, dos and donts etc. Everything I have learnt is from Google (not always the most trusted source). Happy to hear your experiences or if I have just built in image up in my head which isn't realistic!

Line or not

Hello, I’m currently 11DPO. 10DPO wasn’t anything there but this morning I got a faint line! Just wanted to double check so I feel like I’m not going insane. I’m due to start on the 28th. Thank you in advance🥰 it’s darker in person but my phone camera isn’t great. X
