Hi, my partner is nearing the end of his phase 2 training, we are engaged (long term relationship) and have a baby. We’ve never had to apply for housing before & don’t even know the base yet but I’m already stressing. Is it hard to get a house? I literally know nothing abt base life & that scares me so much lol 😭

Me and my partner applied in August and got a house in October it depends on how quick the admin team for the base are to deal with your application. You get given a list of houses available to choose from that is within 30 minutes of the base. Once the paperwork is done it is normally straightforward and easy for it all to go through.
Fair warning - there are a number of houses being used in certain areas for people who have links to military but are not military. Wiltshire, for instance, doesn’t have enough housing for married couples (with or without a family), and unmarried couples (with or without a family) are not a priority over married couples.
