Cry Rooms
Catholic mamas, I would love some ideas! 🤍
Our parish has a cry room, which I am so thankful for, but right now it only has a few fold-out chairs. I would love to help make it feel a little more inviting and comfortable for moms and their crying or wiggly littles! 🥰
What does your parish cry room have in it? Do they have comfortable seating, quiet toys, books, a changing table, or anything else that makes it more welcoming?
If you could design the perfect cry room, what is something you would want it to have? I would love to gather some ideas and hopefully make ours a cozy and helpful space for families! 🤍✝️

Comfy chairs and a rocking chair in the corner for small babies to be rocked . We have lots of books. And we have blankets.
My old parish had pews in there and that’s it. I never liked the cry rooms personally… I once heard a priest say a service without children is a dying church.
I also don’t love the idea of a cry room, personally. My family is there to participate in the mass just as everyone else is, and it doesn’t feel right that mothers and small children have to be kept apart.
Now, am I a little mortified when my daughter decides to make a scene and distract everyone around us? Yes. 😂 BUT, it is also in those moments that soooo many parishioners will give us a kind, understanding smile and let us know it’s ok. Nobody is truly upset and they shouldn’t be.
Comfy chair for nursing 😮💨 But I actually prefer when there’s not much toys etc in there! It allows each parent decide what’s appropriate for their kids to play with/read during Mass ❤️
