Just wanting some reassurance

Thing with the cervical checks is you can't really predict how itll change. You could go from 2cm to 10cm in 20 minutes or it could be 3 weeks. The induction is up to you, you can say no and keep going as you are (less intervention is better) but equally I understand how hard it is waiting!

Remember this is a marathon not a sprint, especially your first, your body doesn't know what to do. It can take weeks then whole process. Just relax and rest as much as possible, keep moving around and your body will do what it needs to when it needs to

I hope my story provides some reassurance. I had my first baby slightly early and this pregnancy looked very similar so I was told quite frequently to be prepared early. I had 3 sweeps between 39 and 40 weeks and they did nothing although I was 3cm dilated and my cervix seemed to get more favourable.
I gave up hope by the last sweep and my due date came and went and then I finally relaxed about it all and he arrived at 40 +2. Once they broke my waters he was out within a few hours!
I think sweeps are great and the progress news as a tool but we can easily read too much into them and then become stressed that things aren't progressing as they should.
The waiting is hard. Induction is an option and as long as you feel fully informed, you will make the right choice for you 😊

I was 40 weeks plus 6 days, me and partner had sex and an hour later my contractions started ! So maybe give that a go!
