Hey ladies, just wandering if anyone had any positive stories or advice. I got admitted last Thursday 40+3 days pregnant with pregnancy induced hypertension. I was started on lebetalol and baby boy was born Friday night, discharged Sunday on medication and BP had been fine. Went for heel prick test on day 5 yesterday and BP was 151/92, has risen since so advised to come to triage this morning and now sitting around 163/99 and HR 52. Has anyone else had this? Dreading staying in hospital again as just want to be home but I know it’s best for myself and baby and my little girl. TIA x

I went in for my routine checkup when I was 37 weeks pregnant and they saw that my blood pressure high and wasn't dropping so they ended up inducing me. I was on labetatol for 2 months straight. Initially took it twice a day but had to increase to 3 times a day (every 8 hours) and that wasn't very fun haha. I just got off of it last month and was put on amlodipine for a more of a longer-term solution.

I was sent home with 6 weeks supply of blood pressure medication after my second baby. I had to take them then was reviewed by my gp, who slowly reduced the amount and was off them after around 3 months. Make sure you’re drinking lots of water as mine always spiked when dehydrated.

I was low risk my entire pregnancy but suddenly had postpartum hypertension a few days after delivery. Was admitted for a day and a half to stabilize my BP and then sent home with labetalol as well. Thankfully my BP started getting better quickly as I controlled my salt intake, stayed super hydrated and monitored my BP twice a day at home. I was cleared to get off meds in 2 weeks and now at 4 weeks pp I’m back to normal!
Just found out we are expecting baby number 2! Super excited (and nervous!)
It's super early, I'm only 3.5 weeks. We want to keep it to ourselves for a bit but I also really want to tell someone..hence this post 🤣

I'm 6 days PP and ended up getting induced a day before my due date as I had protein in my urine and high bp. I've had my baby now but blood pressure is still up, I've been put on labetalol and also nifedipine as my bottom figure is still just over 100..
The anxiety I get everytime a midwife puts the cuff on is horrible every other day, it's only been six days. They wanted to keep me in for 24 hours but I said no and they added another medication. The woman told me 'you're probably going to have high blood pressure for life now' and it's just made me really depressed. Any one else experienced this? How long did it take to stabilise..

Im 30 weeks today! I am having my 4th baby, so I feel like I should be a pro lol however, my last baby is 5, almost 6. Its been so long and I feel like everything has changed. I also forget a lot lol. My mindset as well has changed and wanting to use more organic products etc. This is my 1st child with my husband. His first baby and we tried for 3 years to get pregnant. So idk if its all the emotions as well or what lol like I want everything to be perfect. I had 3 kids before I turned 21 and felt like I was just in survival mode with them. Anyways, im wondering how ready everyone else is. We are almost finished with the nursery. We have a crib, car seat, bassinet and most essentials. There are still some other things we need. I guess im just so nervous I won't be prepared lol. I packed my diaper caddy. Diaper bag is kinda ready lol. Where is everyone else at?
