Long term sick leave

Has anyone been signed off work really early in their pregnancy before for pgp? I started developing it at 12 weeks. And went off at 13 weeks as it was too much, all I could do was lay down. Now I’m 21 weeks and it hasn’t got any better but I feel really guilty for continuing to be off. Especially when most people seem to go off 30 ish weeks with pgp!

I had PGP really early but saw an osteopath and physio who truly helped me and got me to a point where I could go back to my desk job. Worth a try if you haven’t already. I imagine it depends what your job is

Don’t feel guilty! I went on extended sick leave from about 16 weeks and it was the best decision I ever made for myself and baby. I went off for pregnancy related mental health but also struggled really bad with PGP, so I probably would have requested it for that if I didn’t go off for the mental health and I truly believe that’s partly why my baby is so healthy. My midwife said it best “no one knows what’s best for your baby, except you” so do what’s best for your baby and pregnancy, don’t feel guilty or worry about the workplace, they can replace you in a second. Your baby and pregnancy comes first. Good luck x
