Moms who had kids in their 40s

No advice but I want the same. My husband is very worried about finances and apparently the risk of neurodivergence goes up if the kids are too close together but I am not
Worried. Finances will sort themselves and ND chances are low and manageable if they do happen

It's so tricky isn't it?
I have one, 9yo, I have an 11m old and am 42 on Saturday.
I thought I'd feel done, I'm not.
But money is a car crash for us and who knows when my fertility will go wild.
I also hate the idea of doing back to back, everyone I know it's killed and I just don't want that.
But...my partner and I are talking about thinking about it before the decision is taken away.
I guess we'll see!
Hot mess here basically

I was 40: First child born 2020 March after 12 month on/off trying, then Two yrs, tried on/off but miscarriage so only have 1 child. Not tried since & wont now as 46

This is so relevant! I have had two - one at 37 one at 39 and I really don’t feel done. Before child 2 we never said we would only have two, but now he is here hubby has said no more - finances etc, but I don’t feel done. I was 40 a couple of weeks after having number 2 and I’m worrying that if we wait too long until having a third my body won’t be able to. This doesn’t answer your question lol but it’s a similar issue

I'm curious too. I was 43 when I had my daughter 5 months ago. I'm not sure about a second and whether id feel physically able. My daughter was such an easy pregnancy and labour.

Just under 2.5 age gap with mine. The first was before 40 and the second born after 40. I think 3 is a nice sweet spot. Under 2 and oh my gosh you are just losing your mind from how tired you are and won't be able to ever get anything done. 2.5 is pretty good but my older kid was still waking up in the night when we had the newborn. It was exhausting. They both are mostly sleeping through now that we have a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old.

Hey became pregnant at 39, had my baby by 40. I didn't ever think i would have a baby this age as i had my two other children when I was younger. I do wish for another but scared as I am getting older.

Had my first at 37 and pregnant now and due when I'm 40. Had to do a lot of soul searching to think about if I was mentally and physically capable of having another. I think it's a very personal decision but I wouldn't let your age stop you if you really want one. I think ultimately I wanted my kiddo to have a sibling because I know me and his dad will not always be around.
