My little boy wants a Gabbys Dollhouse themed birthday party. And I’m fine with that. We had already decided we’re sticking to a family party and not inviting school friends as I don’t think we’ll know who his friends are before his birthday.
But today when he told my mum that was the theme I got the ‘but he’s a boy’ comment (luckily he wasn’t listening)
He has so many different interests but Gabby is his current favourite. I get that a lot of the promo and colours used in the show are pink/purple but I don’t see why the show is deemed as being for girls. Even looking on Vinted a few things I’ve seen have been labelled as ‘girls’ but I don’t understand why.
Maybe I’m just being sensitive 🤷🏻♀️

I would let my son have whatever party he wanted and wouldn't pay attention to what anyone else says. As long as your child is happy, that's the main thing! My son is 5 next month for context x

Absolutely let him have what he wants! I don't think Gabby's Dollhouse is just for girls at all but even if it is, who cares!? I find the older generation is really stuck on the idea of gender norms but things just aren't, and shouldn't be, that black and white (or should that be blue and and pink 😂)! I've had a couple of comments from my mum about letting my son have painted nails and pink trainers but she can think what she wants... as long as he's happy that's all I care about!
