Council housing mums, can anyone help?

Hi mums, I’m hoping someone can help or share their experience.

I’ve been bidding for a council house for around 5 years and I’m currently in Band 3. I now have a child, so I’m wondering if having a child should put me in a higher priority band?

Am I also now entitled to bid for a 2-bedroom property instead of a 1-bedroom? Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how this works? I’d really appreciate any advice!

You’re entitled to a 2 bed definitely and your priority may go up depending on your circumstances. You should call them up or go do a walk in at the council
