Council help
I have rent privately my whole life, I have been in this property for three years I have a 4 year old and a 3 month old and even with my partner working full time and me part time on maternity leave ( also I gotta mention he works as a lettings agent and I am a dental nurse) even with our jobs we currently cannot afford anything! I can’t believe how disgusting rent has gone up!!! I just I’m devastated. I have been staying overtime where we rent, getting evicted now. The council advised me to stay and that they will help us and just last week they wanted us to move to Croydon to a farm ?? Far from everything. Forgot to mention we live in west London our whole lives and my son just started reception there. They do not care one bit, it is pointless and now we are potentially thinking about moving outside London. I just can’t even understand how this is happening and not only to me but to many other people and in worst situations than mine. Anyone has any advice ? I would appreciate it so much xx

I don’t have any advise but we live in Chiswick (west London) and also rent. There’s no way we can continue this long term because bills are insane. We’re thinking about leaving uk for Italy haha
You stay in your property until the balifs turn up to get you out, otherwise the council may deem you as intentionally homeless. (Unless they offer you somewhere obviously but some councils wait until the last possible day)
On the homeless front, when they house you, due to work and school reasons I believe the councils aren’t allowed to place you more than 90 minutes away (via public transport) from your work/school place. So I’d query what they’ve offered you if it’s more than that. X
