I don’t look after myself, I’m a single mum, stressed, and I live off coffee and my vape. I don’t eat enough and I can’t keep my weight on.
I’m a fussy eater, I can’t stand those protein shakes because they taste funny and I don’t like milk or anything resembling creamy milky stuff. I don’t like red meat and I don’t like junk food. I don’t like dry food. I like salad and eggs. That’s what I mostly live off. I like prawns too. My doctor has suggested I may have AFRID because I struggle with food textures and I’m repetitive with what I eat.
Can anyone offer some advice on how I can put on weight quickly?

Focus on high calorie foods. If you like salads, try skipping the lettuce and just doing more calorie dense veggies, nuts, seeds and cheeses. Basically make the salad with only the toppings. Add lots of salad dressing! Avocados are great to add to salads. And nut butters on bread or in oatmeal or smoothies.

Also protien pastas are super calorie dense. They can be good with hot pasta sauces, red sauce or pesto. They can also be cooled off and the base of a pasta salad!

Quit the coffee and vaping. Caffeine and nicotine are both appetite suppressants. I struggle to keep weight on too, it's rough

I found having things rhat were grab and eat or already prepared to just open and eat helped. I dont like to prepare food. I recently started making one cooked meal a day and that has helped. I tend to snooze timers so even pulling the food out and waiting until im ready to snack helps. Focus on nutrient dense, high fat foods, which can be difficult if nothing sounds good. Too much protein at one time will just upset your stomach so avoid protein shakes and look for nutrition or meal replacement shakes and read the label. I add the powder to a smoothie with like frozen or fresh fruit and juice and I cant taste it. Add high fat dips, dressings and toppings to salad and eggs as tolerated. Consider adding complex carbohydrates and starches like sweet potato, and different grains either as hot cereal (can be savory or sweet) or breads. Adding other seafood could also be an option for variety to serve with bread or crackers (im talking whole grain/seed/ good ones, not the cheap bleached flour ones)

Add lots of oils (olive, avocado are good options) and butter to your food. Oil on salad maybe in a dressing form or make a pesto for pasta and butter on eggs to bulk up the healthy fats and calories. Look to increase your healthy fats in the first instance as these are usually most calorie dense foods. Nuts, avocados etc. Good luck x

They make clear protein drinks that are more like juices if that would be more appealing. Can you see a dietician through your insurance?

Lift weights. You can build muscle that way. Buy some cheap 3kg and 5kg dumbbells. The girls that gain through gym always end up having a nice round perky butt too because they’ve been doing a lot of glute exercises in the squats and RDLs etc
