Gallstones

On Friday I found out that I have gallstones after I spent 6 hours in excruciating pain in the ER and I'm feeling really defeated. I just got confirmation last week that I'm good to try for a VBAC and now it seems like it might not happen because they might have to get baby out early so they can remove my gallbladder. If I'm not dilated to 1cm I'll be forced to have another c-section and then I'll have to go back in 8 weeks pp to have gallbladder surgery. I've done nothing but cry the past few days because it feels like I'm watching my redemptive birth slip away. On top of that, I was desperately hoping to exclusively breastfeed this time since I had so many complications with my first baby and had to formula feed. Now I feel like that dream is slipping away too because how am I supposed to exclusively breastfeed if I'm away from baby to have gallbladder surgery? I'm just feeling so defeated and emotionally unwell right now.

I had my gallbladder out at 32&5. My mom who had her gallbladder out said she’s rather go through child birth than gallbladder pain again (she had 1 natural birth and 2 c sections). The biggest thing for breastfeeding is you may need to pump and do some bottles or do both to help keep her latching on you, since between the anesthesia and pain meds she won’t be able to breastfeed off of you. If you can create a bit of a supply that you can freeze ahead of time it will help loads!
