Hello all,
Just looking for some advice really if anybody else has/is going through the same thing! My LB is 5 months old today and has pretty much always gone to sleep on me. He has always been good at transferring once asleep during the day and at night however over the last few days this is not the case. He's always been a good sleeper and would normally do 1.5-2.5hrs for a nap and now i'm lucky if we get 45 mins! It seems to be he more so wakes up once i've put him down when asleep he'll be awake within 5 minutes, so today I tried lying next to him to try and get him to sleep but he fussed and fussed so I tried the 'leave the room' and it was hell!
He got himself sooo worked up that i ended up going back upto him after a short time and as soon as I picked him up he fell asleep within like 2 mins. I only tried just popping him down to try and self soothe because I figured if he was waking because I was putting him down then just cut out the middle man right and if not putting him down wasn't an issue hopefully he'd sleep betterš
I would loveee to carry on just being able to pop him down and him either self soothing or be okay with me just being next to him whilst he went off to sleep.
Has anyone got any tips how to continue with this and making it as less traumatising for him as possible? I hate just letting him scream and won't do it.
Is it just keep going with it and seeing how we go or does anyone have any tips if they've been through this?š
Thank you!šāŗļø

My little boy was exactly the same heās 5 months and 3 days.
Every nap was a contact nap. About 3/4 days ago I was finally like enough is enough because he just wouldnāt settle unless on me and it becomes too much!
I put him in his crib for his nap and just sit next to him originally it took 1-2 hours. He now falls asleep in under 10 minutes. We havenāt quite mastered bed time yet š¤£
I donāt ever let him get upset and if he does I pick him up, calm him down and straight back into the crib.
It appears to be working, sort ofā¦

I could have written this myself. Transferring used to be easy and it's gone out the window

Quite normal at this age, itās sleep regression and it happens due to all the development their brain goes through. Both my kids donāt sleep long, and have short naps before 6months old x

I have just entered this as well will occasionally settle at night if given a dummy but day naps not a chance!! As he only sleeps 30 mins anyway still xx
