I can understand why mothers choose to walk away. We’re alone 24/7! Please tell me it gets better because I’m ready to give up.

I’m going to be honest. I used to be a little judgmental of mothers who walked away or abandoned their kids, but I can understand it to some extent now. In my opinion, there are two different situations: mothers who are completely burned out and feel like they’re ready to give up, and mothers who never really tried to embrace the journey of motherhood and simply left at some point.
I think when you’re struggling, you have to look around and ask yourself, “What can I get help with?” It can be your partner, family, daycare, or even just people who understand what you’re going through. Sometimes you don’t need to do everything by yourself—you just need the right support system.

My relationship with my fiancé definitely had to grow after having our son but I can say we're a lot stronger as a couple now then before having a kid. Before having kids we didn't have anything as important that we were responsible for. Then all of a sudden we had a kid who we both care very much about. Even little differences of opinion felt really huge and it led to arguments. Eventually we just had to work to realize we are on the same team. It's gotten easier overall for sure, but there's still phases of toughness as our kid grows. He's 14 months now and we're doing really well.
