Temper tantrums

My 19 month old seems to have really intense big feelings, tantrums and meltdowns. He's my second but my first didn't have tantrums at this age- his behaviour got hard after he turned 3 years and this age was the easiest!

There is at least one massive tantrum everyday, like this morning it was because I put on his boots instead of his wellies. He will throw himself on the ground and lie down refusing to get up and screaming so loud. When I try to comfort him or hold him he throws himself out of my arms. Each time it lasts for probably about 15 minutes. If I peel his banana too much or break off some food instead of giving it to him whole (because he can't eat the whole thing and it would be wasted) he screams and hits the food out of my hand on to the floor. Then screams because the food is no good and he wanted it.

It's exhausting. Is anybody else experiencing this?

Try offering him choices 'would you like to wear the boots or wellies?' it can help them feel more in control and less likely to become overwhelmed

Yeah we’re at 21 months now but the tantrums have been around for a while. Giving choice has definitely worked for us (and picking our battles). Put away anything he can’t have so it’s not an option otherwise they can fixate a bit - they understand having the choice but not necessarily the why around if that choice is taken away, if that makes sense x

Leaking overnight

My little lady is 4.5 months and has just started sleeping through the night (last 2weeks) she’s in size 2 pampers or size 3 supermarket own as they’re smaller.
I’ve pried pampers, Morrisons, Aldi nappies and through the night she’s leaking. Any recommendations, please?

Why are newborns so noisy when sleeping?

They say sleep when your baby sleeps, but how are you supposed to do that when you constantly end up checking because the noises they are making sound like a literal demonic possession. My daughter woke for a feed during the night, I changed her and fed her and popped her back into her cot once she was asleep but then proceeded to spend the next half hour turning on the night light and checking if she was still asleep due to the noises and movement coming from her next to me. By the time I get back to sleep she will be nearing her next wake window 😅

Postpartum Hairloss

Hello mommas
I am 3 months postpartum and am dealing with hair loss. I’m talking about loosing clumps of hair in the shower or even brushing it when it’s dry. Tbh i don’t feel like me anymore, but i understand that there’s a new version of me now (the mommy me) I wanted to ask, what are some tips/tricks you guys have for dealing with hair loss? From oils, to vitamins, to treatments, at home remedies, etc. I greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Second time mums..how?

My almost 4 week old doesn’t go down to sleep until 10:30-11pm, she has a few wakes which is fine, but the last block somehow kill’s me off. Her last wake is around 5:30/6am ish and it seems to take me the longest to settle her back to sleep at this hour and by the time I’ve finished my 3.5 year old is ready to talk my ear off at 7am prompt and ofc needs personal care and breakfast.

I’ve been able to rest as luckily my partner is still on leave, but I am anxiously anticipating his return to work and don’t know how I’ll do it!! 3 days of the week we will have to be out the door to the childminder, but the rest of the 4 he’s home with me😬.

How are we getting through the mornings/days with our eldest whilst sleep deprived?!
Any tips are welcome

4 month regression

Checking if your babies who are going through sleep regression also waking up before their usual time in the morning (apart from multiple wakings through the night). My LO used to sleep so well from 9 PM to 9 AM with one tiny feed at around 4/5 am. This bedtime works very well for our family. Now that the regression has hit us hard, she is waking up 3 or 4 times and then finally waking up fully alert and cheery around 7.30 am (1-1.5 hrs earlier than usual). Is this happening with you? Do you fully wake them up and start the day or just ride through this time till they are ready to sleep again? Sorry for the long post!
