I was pregnant in May and sadly lost the baby at 7 weeks. I had a period then 5 weeks later (starting on the 28th July) and it was absolutely awful. And I’ve not had one since. We want to try again and I’ve been using ovulation sticks and I seem to get an increase in hormones and then they will drop and then an increase again a few days later. I can’t tell what is going on. We’ve been trying to conceive but so far no positive tests!! Has anyone else had this? What should I do??

I’m so sorry for your loss. Frustratingly there really is no normal after miscarriage, it can take our bodies a while to regulate. It’s sounds like your body is definitely trying though which is good, but not quite ovulating. I think when it’s been over 8 weeks since your last period it’s worth discussing with your doctor. Best of luck lovely, hope you get your rainbow soon.

I had something like this. I had always had regular periods before my first miscarriage but in the months after my period became a bit irregular and then i eventually had a cycle where I didn’t ovulate till cycle day 80. I had the same thing where lh would rise but then drop back before i actually got positive only to start rising again. At that point i was diagnosed with pcos but i wonder if i may actually have had atypical hypothalamic amenorrhea. Either way the issue for me seemed to be stress because after trying to improve my insulin resistance with no cycle improvement my dietitian suggested there was no point in trying to further optimize my diet while I was stressed and not sleeping well. Sure enough after I turned my focus to getting 8 hours of sleep per night and trying to let go of stress my cycle came back better than ever. In hindsight it’s likely an issue I’ve always had that just presented differently or was masked by the pill for most of my life
