Our LO has been constipated for almost 2 months now. Her bowel movements aren’t regular and she is clearly in pain even while trying to pass gas. These past 2 months she has pooped only when I gave her lot of prunes but is this okay? I feel like she should be able to poo normally without any intervention. Took her to the GP and as usual they say nothing is wrong but she’s not eating solids(probably cause she’s unable to poo)I noticed she tries to eat on the day she has had a poo. She turned 9 months last week for reference.
Please help me !!

What about increasing foods that are higher in fiber?

How much water is she having with meals?
You could make the prunes daily but small amounts just to keep her regular and get her to eat more solids?
That’s also an issue, she’s been playing with water, tried all sorts to make her drink but she has like a spoonful and that’s it 🫣

Weetabix always helped my girl have a good poop. Foods that are high in water like yogurt, tomato’s, strawberries etc should help get more water in her but milks still fine until 1 anyway xx

We had the same issue with our daughter around a similar age & we ended up speaking with our local pharmacist because the docs told us it was normal and it’d pass but it’s awful seeing them so uncomfortable and in pain - we gave her Lactulose which you can grab over the counter. I can’t remember off the top of my head the dosage but it worked anyway. Took about 24 hours but we gave her some of that, and then some Infacol to help pass any gas as well xx

Beans are great. I do homemade baked beans with a tomato sauce with loads of extra veg. Weetabix or porridge for breakfast everyday. Stay away from eggs, bananas and too much dairy because they can make it worse.
Thank you x

Since she doesn't like to drink much see if you can give her water rich fruits & bowel helping ones- melon, orange, pear, prune, peach, plum, kiwi, peas, beans, cucumber
If you are going to be rude or insensitive to others, don’t comment on this post.
if you gave birth via caesarean, would it bother you if someone asked if you gave birth “naturally or by caesarean” (nothing to do with whether you were medicated).
When I gave birth I always answered “vaginally” to others and they seemed uncomfortable 🤣 there was nothing natural about that shit show lmao

Hi, not expecting a diagnosis obviously but maybe just some opinions and or advice. I have a nearly 4 month old. I’ve been to my doctor re my mental health and they have told me to do a self referral for some talk therapy but it looks like it could take a few months. I’m really struggling but I don’t know if it’s a normal amount as a new first time mum or something more. I feel very low a lot of the time, crying most days but not every day, feeling isolated (no mum friends), feeling like I’m not enjoying being a mum as much as I hoped, missing my old life and freedom, struggling with patience and the constant crying and fussing, feeling like it’s Groundhog Day, jealous of my husbands life, feeling like I’m not doing a good enough job, worrying I’m not doing things well enough and it will negatively affect her, only feeling better when I have people with me who know about kids and can step in and help eg in laws etc. I have tried hard to work on being positive, I get out for multiple walks every day, I’ve joined a sensory class, I’m on this app but I feel like none of it is really working or doing much. I feel like I’m ticking boxes of things that should help but I’m not making any mum friends and honestly a lot of the time it feels like I’m masking. Sometimes I get so upset and cry and I can’t really explain why….

After lots of research, shop visits and trying different options, we’ve narrowed it down to the Joolz Aer², Silver Cross Nia and Bugaboo Butterfly.
We’re looking for one lightweight pushchair that is sturdy enough for everyday use, easy to carry as we live somewhere with no lift, and practical for travel too. We’d really prefer not to buy multiple pushchairs for different purposes, so ideally we want something that can work from newborn through to later toddler years.
We have tried all 3 and I feel in terms of sturdiness, Bugaboo would be the most sturdy, followed by Nia and then Joolz Aer2. Aesthetically and colour wise, I do prefer the Nia design.
Has anyone used any of these as their main everyday pushchair from birth? Would love to hear your experience and recommendations.

Hi, I am going to be a first time mum in December, at the moment we have a double bed in the spare room (which is going to be the nursery) my initial plan was to sell the bed, do people think this is a good idea.
Or during the night do you think it’s good to have in case baby won’t settle, and I can sleep in the spare room with him.
Preferably I would want to sleep in the same bed as my partner so hopefully won’t need it.
I just wondered what other people did?

I’m feeling quite guilty.. I’m exclusively breastfeeding and my baby is 10 weeks now, my husband is in the navy also which means me and baby alone most night. I’ve found myself just ending up co sleeping just because it happens, I feed then fall asleep and that’s how I sleep. When he was smaller and a new born or if me or if me and my husband are both in the bed I always prefer him and feel better with him in the next to me but when it’s just me is it okay to co sleep. Any tips on how to stay safe? I feel guilty because all my family hate it and the idea of it and I do too but non of them have ever breastfed.
