Shower after c section

It has to be taken off 7 days after and when showering just use some warm water at first and making sure it’s completely dry after using some kitchen roll etc (don’t use towel to dry as this can harbour bacteria)

You can take a shower the day of your section! You don’t have to wait for the bandage to be removed but mine came off both times on day 5.

Wash as normal, just don’t scrub or soap up the wound. Let the water just wash over it and pat it dry.

I did all the aftercare i was told to do i still got an infection in my incision

I was told the day after my section to take a shower to help remove the sticky dressing.

I took a shower the next day at the hospital

I had a shower the next day when my dressing was removed. Just don’t scrub or rub the area. Soap the rest of your body and let the water run it down your tummy. Pat dry after

My nurses let me take a shower a few hours after my c-section. You just have to be careful not to scrub the incision or put soap directly on it, just let warm water run over it. I labored for 32 hours before my c-section and felt so gross so I'm so thankful they let me shower as soon as the spinal block wore off.
