Did anyone else find their emergency c-section traumatic on both you and baby? And how did you process?
I was pushing for 3 hours only to find out he had turned and was breach. His heart rate had been lowering in majority of my laboring positions, so combined with finding out he was breach, whisked off to surgery we went.
They had a really hard time getting him and and he was quite traumatized coming out. He wasn’t breathing and we both left with scars.
I’m not am quite sure how to process all of this for me and my son besides talking about it. Any tips? Or anyone experience something similar?

I completely understand. I had emergency C-sections with both of my babies, and my first birth was especially traumatic. I was in labour for about a day and a half. At one point I was told I was 6cm dilated, but later found out I was actually only around 4cm and wasn’t progressing.
I really wanted a vaginal birth and kept trying, but my son’s heart rate kept dropping and he was becoming distressed. Eventually I knew his safety mattered more than the birth I had imagined, so I agreed to the emergency C-section. When he was born, we found out the umbilical cord had been tangled around him.
It took me quite a while to process it because everything happened so differently from what I had hoped. I think talking about it really does help, especially with people who understand. Give yourself time to process what happened — you went through a lot physically and emotionally. 🤍

Be gentle with yourself and give yourself time to process everything. 🤍 One thing that helped me was reminding myself that, despite how traumatic the experience was, both my baby and I came through it safely.
Now when I look at my little boy smiling and laughing, my heart just flutters. 🥹🤍 It reminds me that although his birth wasn't how I imagined it would be, he's here, he's safe, and that's what I hold on to. Sending you lots of love—you and your little one went through so much. ❤️

And I'm an artist. I paint my pain alot.. it helps too💕

I also had emergency c-section at 41 weeks plus. I tried almost 2 days for vaginal birth but 6 cm dilated. 2 times our heartbeat increased still dr waiting. But after 2 days they strongly recommend for c-section. As my baby’a safety first, i have no option to choose. Within 10 min i had to do. It was sudden shock for me. As whole pregnancy i am happy with my pregnancy no complications . My due date over went for induce but natural pain started that time. Then sudden this decision.
I have to take 42 injections as well. I had infections for long period of delivery pain. Luckily my baby was safe.
Still now sometimes i feel upset whenever i remember that day. I did every exercise for normal delivery. But my baby was little big and she turned the opposite way that’s why that was the best decision dr said. I don’t know why they didn’t check baby’s weight. I told them till last week. Last i checked weight 32 weeks.
You are not alone gone through this phase. We are lucky our baby is safe .
