4 month old with slight temp- scared
Hi,
Has anyone's 4 month old had a temperature and been ok? Whenever my kids get a temp i absolutely freak out. My husband and older son have been ill with coughs/colds and my 4month old has been snotty but ok in himself. Now his temp is creeping up and im terrified.
Ive given him calpol. But if he does get a temp 38 or over what do i do?! And should I panic?!
I know this sounds silly as a second time mum but I get so scared.

I know it’s late so not ideal but baths are really good for regulating their temperature if the temp isn’t ridiculously high x
God I’m the same with temp I have the digital thing on them every 4 mins 😭 Once they’re 3 months you don’t need to see a doctor until it’s 39 degrees or if it lasts more than a few days hopefully it passes quickly and you can feel better by the morning!
Nothing to worry about at 38 at this age but if it was me I’d probably get a GP appointment tomorrow to get him checked out for respiratory infections if he’s had a cold. Keep an eye out for the red flags and call 111 in the night if it reaches 39 (that’s what the NHS website says to do). Both my toddler and 4 month old have been hospitalised for medical conditions with temperatures so I’m used to constantly checking it! Trust your gut- you know when there’s something wrong and when they’re just under the weather.

I completely feel your fear and it’s completely normal, I jump and every little thing with my LO of something is slightly abnormal I go into complete panic but all I say is trust your gut if you feel your LO is behaving differently and has temp 111 is a call even just for advise and reassurance
