Although there is still lots of time until my due date (Easter weekend), I am very apprehensive about buying things in fear of jinxing anything!
It’s has taken a long time to fall pregnant and I don’t want anything to go wrong.. is this usual? 🫣

We had 2 early losses and have made it past the dates of those so went a bit mad buying things!
At the back of my mind though, is still the constant thought that something could go wrong 💜

I feel the same way. I lost my first at 7 weeks but I think the risk does go down massively after the first trimester. I bought my first item last week I got a bassinet as I fell in love with it! I still am struggling to believe I’m pregnant and that everything is fine, even though dating scan went well. I think what you’re feeling is very normal! Especially as things took longer so it wasn’t as straight forward as we were expecting. Stay positive and you’re not alone! Maybe treat yourself to your first item. It actually makes things feel more real and very exciting. I feel like I’m starting to bond with baby now☺️ wish you all the best with your journey x

I completely understand. Our first we waited years for and eventually got pregnant through IVF. We then had a second trimester loss which has made this current pregnancy exciting and anxiety inducing.
What I would say is while there is no way to jinx a pregnancy, you may feel better about buying things either when you feel movements or when you start seeing movements from the outside of you belly or a partner/ friend can start to feel them. At that point the excitement really ramps up and I think you will feel ready to buy things.
I would recommend not pushing yourself to get anything yet. But also not deny yourself if you are out and about and see something adorable, give yourself permission to buy that. Start small and I'm sure it will all fall into place. You still also have plenty of time to get things
