Preterm

so yesterday I went in for my 32 week OB appointment and when they were checking babies heart, they noticed it was higher than usual and was having late decelerations so I was sent in to be monitored. After four hours of monitoring they told me I was fine to go home. I woke up last night having contractions and decided to come get checked out when they checked me out yesterday, my cervix was closed and thick… this morning when I got here I was dilated to a one and my cervix was thin since then I’ve been admitted and given steroids to help babies lungs develop if she does decide to come and also been given medication’s to try and stop or slow the contractions. They seem to be working, but I still don’t know. They told me I would be here at least the next two days wondering if anyone has dealt with this if they had success in delaying labor or if they had their baby prematurely

I quite literally just went through all of that last week 🤣 lost my cervical plug too 1 cm dialated with contractions. But they noticed my contractions weren’t getting stronger or closer together and so they sent me home . I was also monitored for like forever and they did a full ultrasound to check her fluid levels and breathing etc , ive still been carrying her this week , lots of pelvic pressure and the contractions are bearable but uncomfortable.

My midwife didn’t want to do any interventions though .

Aww im sorry youre going through this, especially with it being your first pregnancy. Hopefully they will be able to stop the labor and eventually send you home. I feel like its 50/50. Sometimes I just look on youtube to see any vlog stories 🤣.

I totally understand that, it truely depends on what direction things go are you still admitted ?

C-Section Infection

I'm almost 4 months postpartum and had a cat2 C-Section. Everything seemed fine when we had gotten home and then where the incision is became infected. Treated it with antibiotics from the doctors and it cleared up. After that it started to open up slightly in places and got infected again. More antibiotics and the openings closed but the infection stayed. I presumed it was just with it being underneath the overhang of my stomach and with the weather being so warm that it was just getting sweaty which was causing it. I got more antibiotics and a steroid/fungal cream which I've been using for a few weeks now but it still has a smell and looks red in places. Any advice before the doctors try to give me more antibiotics? I clean the area multiple times a day and let it air-dry as well as continuous use of the cream🫠

Considering a c section

I need the mamas that have had a c section done. I’m done having kids after this baby (I’ll have two after this one is born) my 2 year old was a vaginal birth. I’m tryna weigh out the pros and cons on having a c section. I wanna know your experiences, how long you were in the hospital for, what your recovery time was before you felt physically “normal” again like had no pain. Now I understand everybody is different with healing and pain tolerance. I just wanna get everyone’s opinion. Also if I were to have a c section would they do the tubal ligation right then and there or would I have to come back to get it done.

Reduced movement

Hey. I was just thinking. What is considered as reduced movement? Assuming you normally feel your baby move 5 times a day. If they moved just 2 times on one day, 4 times the next, once the following day but next to 5 the day after. Is that reduced movement or irregular movement? At what point exactly do you call triage?

Nervous about my waters breaking 😅

This is my second and am so nervous as when and where my waters might break. With my first I was induced and they broke my waters. I know it’s not always like the movies where it’s the big gush but it still makes me so nervous. What if am out, or at toddler group or nursery run or something 🥲 I would hate to be in a public place and people end up making a fuss 😣 I know am over thinking all of this but I can’t help it!
