Birthday parties

So we’ve started school and wow, the birthday invitations keep coming!

So we’ve never really had birthday parties that aren’t close family or friends where we dont necessarily have a limit for gifts.

Now we have school friends what’s the norm? What budget do we stick to, what kind of gifts? Going in blind!

Last year for preschool I bought a load of books from the works (the 10 for £10) and a load of craft kits . Then for each party my son chose a book and a kit from the stash. Probs a total of about £3 - £4 a gift. Aa a mum I'd much rather books and crafts than needing to find room for lots of plastic stuff etc. He's got enough already 😂

I tend to give a toy/craft plus a book and card so it’s not just one item in the gift bag but not overboard! I recently gave a reusable sticker book and bracelet making kit to one, and then a little hot wheels track and a gruffalo water painting book to another who we were close with. Generally i try to keep it under £10

I buy in bulk from The Works. Generally puzzles or arts & crafts but I don't spend anymore than £5 per child.
My daughter has been to a lot of parties throughout the last 2 years of nursery! A small gesture is all that is needed
