“R u still Pregnant” texts

I know everyone means well and is excited, but the constant “are you still pregnant?” or “is baby here yet?” texts are getting so mentally exhausting at the end of pregnancy. 😭 Anyone else feel like they’ve gone into full hibernation mode and just don’t have the emotional energy for the baby-watch check-ins anymore?

And this is why I set boundaries with friends and family. I will let them know when baby girl is here as I am ready to share and anyone pestering for updates will be blocked until after she is here and I am healed enough for company.
That said I'm also the one in my family and friend circles that doesn't mind confrontation so that makes it easier.

I am going crazy with all the “how are you feeling?” Or even more invasive “how dilated are you?” I am having my husband handle updates to his family of “we will let you know when there is something to know” and honestly considering ignoring some people until post baby. I think they should be understanding that there are a lot of hormones and more important things like mentally and physically preparing for baby than keeping up with ever person who is overly excited

I had so many texts like that with my first baby and it was SO obnoxious. Thankfully this time around people are giving me more space but I have had people reach out in the last week asking to hang out one last time before baby gets here and I'm like yeahhh no. Like they could have reached out any time in the last two months to hang out but chose to wait until I hit 39 weeks? I don't have any energy to leave my house right now and I'm also not trying to be sick during birth either so I'm low key quarantining too 😅

It's not even the texts 😅 My mom drove into town to help, and she is so on edge that me going to the bathroom in the middle of the night gets a "Is everything okay?! Are you in labor?!"

No, not in labor. I promise I'll tell you. I just have to pee for the 27th time tonight. I've been having prodromal labor for over a week and I'm... Beyond done being pregnant and people are not helping me be patient lol.

Yeah anytime I hear anything about the baby now i honestly just zone out or dont txt back.. ive gotten to a point where im just straight up exhausted with pain and sickness I dont have the emotional availability for these people..

Huh. I'm so excited about baby that it didn't occur to me to be annoyed that my friends and family are excited about baby.

I'm still working (baby expected in 12 days) and am thinking hard about withdrawing from that/ taking some PTO, but taking distance from friends and family texting hadn't occurred to me. I'd rather think about baby and maternity leave than spreadsheets 🤷‍♀️

Don't text back and block people if needed. Protect your peace ✌🏼

😂 I see the pregnant hormones are really affecting us. Some women get mad that people don't check on them while they are going through pregnancy.. others get annoyed when people check on them. 😭😭😭 Pregnancy is really not for the weak.

I guess my friends are a little more tactful with their words, but I guess it’s still the same thing, lol. All the texts I’ve been getting the last few days are, “Hey, I’ve been thinking about you… wanted to check in.” 😅
