Nightmare or reflexes?
My baby is about to be 3 months and the past week he’s cried in his sleep and wakes up crying. It takes him a bit to calm him down. This is super new for him so just curious is anyone else going or been through this?

Yes, this started happening to us during naps several weeks ago (my daughter turned 3mo on the 2nd). It always seems to me that it happens when she wakes up but is still tired. Only happens sporadically though.
Just a dream, they dream in emotions rather than pictures etc
Been through it before with my oldest; he'd giggle in his sleep in the dark out of nowhere, like a creepy Victorian ghost child in a haunted house. About to go through it again with my second- she'll be in a perfectly peaceful sleep then make a 😫face for seemingly no reason and huff & puff like she's getting worked up to cry.
They do indeed dream in abstract concepts and emotion. I think it's part of the sleep regression stages having to do with the brain sorting out new skills.
