Just wondering what things grandparents do with 4/5year olds when you visit their house? My husband’s parents don’t tend to do anything with her when we are with them, but then get annoyed that my little girl is craving their attention then doesn’t want to hug/kiss them goodbye. (They used to look after her on Fridays but even then as soon as we returned they kind of “switched off”. ) They tell her not to visit their house when she has a tantrum and it’s all just not helpful and making it harder…
How can we resolve this? Thanks!

My in laws have a toy bin for my toddler with his favorite toys and he’ll bring them toys to play with him and they watch his fav shows with him. We are recently getting my toddler into card games and soon board games so that’s something they’ll be able to do with him here soon too . My in laws also always have a spare kids juice and a couple of his favorite snacks in the pantry just in case we pop by. It’s extremely rare but occasionally I let my son go out with them for half a day to a card show or to a petting zoo things like that .

That’s a child. A child will crave human interaction especially now. A child cries. A child makes a mess. A child has poor emotional control. What kind of grandparents are they to not want to hug and kiss on their baby’s babies. So unloving. She dont need a short tempered dry old person rejecting her, she needs mommas real genuine love.

My parents have toys. They will play with those toys with them sometimes but also will just cuddle on the couch and watch a show or movie with them
