i believe it is from 2 that they start to prepare you to resume looking for employment. my daughter was 18 months when they booked my appointment to see where I was at with going back to work. the whole point of universal credit is to support whilst you are a job seeker, and then get you back into work, hence the name job centre! why is it that you want to reject looking? x

Why would you not want help looking for job? I assume your child would be eligible for free childcare if not now, but soon in the future

Benefits including universal credit is there for people who are unable to work or who are seeking employment. Someone has to pay for you and your child - unfortunately, there's no such thing as free money. Once you start working you should be entitled to some free childcare.

All the best

Do you have any difficulties which make it difficult for you to work, like physical or mental health issues? If so, you could go through a limited capability for work assessment with the job centre, which would reduce expectations on you to work as well as mean you no longer have to attend those appointments.
