Hi everyone
I’m having a planned C due to some health complications of my own, I’ve had the date set but it’s only 6 days before my due date. I’ve read up and it says normally it’s at least two weeks before in case baby starts to come naturally.
Just wanted to check on here and see how far in advance yours are from your due dates. Thinking I might go back and tell them I need it to be moved forward?
Thanks everyone 🥰
(And best of luck for yours!)

My first one was on my due date and my second one was 5 days before my due date x

Mine was 1 week before my due date. It probably varies on the trust, but where I had my baby they do elective c sections at 39 weeks, and only do them earlier if there are complications with baby or gestational diabetes. I think it’s so it gives baby best chance of breathing without help as the lungs are last thing to fully develop.
Best of luck with your C I’m sure it will go amazing ♥️

If you’re in the UK, and it’s a singleton pregnancy, it’s usually in the 39th week. If you go into labour before that, you’ll immediately be taken to theatre for an emergency csection. It might be scheduled earlier if there are other risk factors eg small/large baby, preeclampsia etc but typically in the 39th week.

Mine was 5 days before my due date!

Mine was 4 days before due date. I was told that unless there are health complications, they wouldn’t do before 39 weeks as they want to give baby best chance with their being fully developed

My first was a month before, then my second was three weeks before…

Mine was scheduled 4 days before my due date

My first was on my due date and my second was 5 days before

Mine was scheduled 2 days before my due date

My first c section was 4 days before my due date and my second c section was 5 days before my due date

My original due date was 8/16. I was “advanced maternal age” plus I gestational diabetes so they were going to induce me on 7/30. But my water broke spontaneously at 2a on 7/26. I did not dilate a single cm so we ended up going with a c-section because I did not want to try pitocin.

Mine is tomorrow and my original due date is Friday, yesterday I started having irregular contractions, if you are worried it's probably worth it to change. I feel like I could go into labor today before my c section
Thanks so much everyone! That’s super helpful ❤️

Mine was 2 days before due date (UK) good luck ❤️❤️ xxxx

1 week is really normal. They want baby as ready as possible. ❤️

It’s normally a week cause they want them in as long as possible but not too long where you go into labor naturally. Mine was 7 days from her actual due date. My planned c section was 08/18/26 and her actual due date was 08/25/26. Good luck! 🖤🩶🖤

It’s usually within your 39th week of pregnancy if you’re in the UK and your consultant doesn’t think there would be a clinical benefit to going any earlier. Babies born earlier can have a higer risk of breathing problems and need neonatal care. So they need to weigh up the risks/ benefits in each individual case. I’m going to be having a planned section between 38 and 39 weeks because I’m high risk and the benefit of bringing my baby earlier is greater than the risks of waiting till 39 weeks. Speak to your consultant about your options and what might be best for you and your baby ☺️

I found out a few days ago that I’m pregnant. I’m ecstatic about it and excited to finally be on this journey. My husband and I have been trying for 2 years. Now that it’s happening, I keep feeling anxious that it’s not actually happening…you know? Like the 3 tests I’ve taken and were all positive were all fake positives or something. Has anyone else felt like that? I’m 4 1/2 weeks right now and I know it’s very early. I guess I’m just anxious that I’m imaging it all.

I’m 32 weeks first time mom and all I can do is think about how it will be after I have my baby. It’s surreal because i never thought I would have a baby….now I’m close to the finish line and can’t stop thinking about every little thing. Plus I’m nervous about labor. I don’t sleep that much at night because I’m up thinking too much. Help 😑😭
