I learned to knit when I was 9 through a free program at the library in the town I lived in at the time.
i’m better at and much prefer to crochet over knitting but I think just finding a small project you want to work on and practicing that over and over again is a good start. for example, when I started crocheting, one of the first things I wanted to do was make a granny square. idk 😅 so I found a tutorial online and just made dozens of granny squares just to practice.

My local library provides online access to Craftsy classes that can teach you almost any craft for free. Alternatively, your local library might offer in person courses or you could visit a local yarn shop for classes. I always found that in-person classes were easier than online tutorials, but online tutorials are great at re-enforcing the concepts I learn at in-person classes.
