Maternity Leave
When is everyone planning to start their maternity leave?
I’m expecting my first and want to work as long as possible so I get a full year at home with my little one.
My plan was to take a weeks annual leave then start maternity leave a week before my due date but I’m not sure if I’ll be pushing it too far.
What’s everyone else thinking?

Only you can know. Each pregnancy is different and affects us differently. I planned to start Mat leave 2 weeks before due date but GP signed off requesting WFH from a good few weeks before that.
You can inform your employer of your plan but if you need to take it sooner, they should be accommodating (I think they have to, but maybe check that!)
My Plan is to start as close as possible to try work right up until my delivery date lol crazy ik, I do work from home though so I won't have to worry about commuting or anything...I might two weeks or so before by due date I will start working half days and use my annual leave
