iep kids

I homeschool my 3 kids ages 8,6&5. My middle child was diagnosed with a speech delay and receptive language disorder while he was younger. Around the age of 3 to 5. He was in speech therapy, but the lady was super pushy with him. "You need to talk." My son is very shy and isnt like that. I took him out. He had an iep in school. We tried preschool, but pulled him out. Months went by and he would still kick/scream, throw himself on the floor. Then we tried kindergarten and he was in a slower class. We knew he would have to repeat anyways. Now he is 6 and turns 7 in feb. He is using TGATB. Weve done the preschool, prek and now were on the kindergarten. Hes doing well with the math, however not too well with the LA. He has trouble with the cvc words and blending sounds. He gets the concept, but sometimes just messes up. I just feel like im failing him. Ive tried other curriculums and wasnt a huge fan. Hes a very energetic, hands on child. Trying the hooked on phonics apps rn. Any recommendations?

As a mom of 2 Autistic children with functional communication challenges, if advise you try speech therapy again with a different SLP that is affirming of all types of communication.

Also, has he been evaluated for Autism or ADHD or any other developmental disabilities?
