How’s everyone doing?

Noticed this group isn’t very active, so thought would just reach out see how others are doing?

How is everyone doing during the winter months?

Checking-in with all the Mums experiencing the colder months and it getting dark earlier (we're in the UK!) 🥶 How are you managing? What helps you? Have you got much help/support? Or tips on asking for help/support? Can you share what helps you....?

Education

Primary schools and Solo parents

Hey Mumas! Is anyone else looking for schools next year, or already done this and their kids started school? If so, how much are you saying about being a solo parent? I will need some support from school and guidance on how to navigate phonics, but I think I need them to know it's me, with one pair of hands...!

Any thoughts or suggestions on how open you've been with schools at the beginning or after kids start..?

Childcare

Good books for kid's questions..?

The first thing my 3yo son said to me after waking up this morning, was that a little girl at his nursery said he must have a daddy and he said he didn't.

I'd tried to prepare for this, but another little one challenging him wasn't something I'd thought about! Has anyone found any useful books to help their kids with this or any similar questions??

Does anyone here parent alone but also have no extended family

I’ve been / am used to it. But now I have LO, do feel bad for her we have no extended family. But I know as she grows up a bit (she’s only 18 months now) she’ll have friends and we’ll have other mum friends and I’ll create a good circle around her beyond my friends that have no kids.

But the no extended family part will hits hard at Christmas, Easter times etc. this will be her first Christmas she’ll be more aware so I’m going to make it special. But i feel bad she may feel the sadness of lack of extended family I’ve felt all these years. But I do have her.. am hoping she see’s me as enough :/
