November 2020 babies

Hey y’all, we are thinking of having my daughters birthday on 11/11/23. The venue that we want doesn’t do parties on Sundays are her birthday is 11/13. Would you come to a birthday party on Veteran’s Day? Or do you think it would be better to do it the next weekend? Thank you in advance for y’all’s opinions 🥰

So I checked my daughters height and weight the other day. She is between 75th and 91st for height, and 98th for weight. She’s always been within that range. However the NHS website says she is ‘very overweight’.

She has a great diet, lots of fruits and veggies, the odd treat here and there but nothing crazy. She’s ‘solid’ but I’ve never looked at her and thought she was overweight.

Should I be concerned that she’s on 98th centile? She was weighed by HV in January and they did t seem to be concerned at the time but given she’s approaching 3, should I be more focused on it now??

So it'll be his 3rd birthday end of November, we have I feel a house full of stuff. We're planning on getting him a yoto player but looking at other recommendations for toys for family to buy. I'd rather he has just a few gifts that'll be played with rather than like last year lots of stuff that barely gets touched! Any help would be appreciated! I know it's early but want to help family grab a bargain as I swear everything goes up nearer Xmas!

So my little girl is totally not interested in potty training and resists it. I’m trying not to put too much pressure on her but I feel like she’s getting a little bit old to still be in nappies. There’s a lot of pressure from family members as they think she should be out of nappies by now.

She sometimes shows an interest and does the odd wee on the toilet or potty, but on the whole she has no interest. If I ask her if she’d like to go to the bathroom with me she shouts ‘no’ and cries. She’s very strong willed and I don’t know how to bring her round to the idea.

We have a toilet seat and step, carry potty, normal potty. We also read books on potty training and got her to choose her own big girl pants. We’ve tried putting pants inside her nappy but she didn’t seem to care. We’ve also tried going without a nappy for a couple of mornings and she refused to sit on the potty at all and weed all over the floor and the sofa on both occasions.

Anybody else in the same boat? And tips on how to get things started would be greatly appreciated!

My son is 2.5 and he moved in to a toddler bed in April, for the first time he started going to sleep on his own, was amazing! Then about 5 weeks ago we really struggled to get him down, we didn't change his routine or anything. But instead of the 3 stories, staying for a few minutes then leaving to fall asleep on his own (hed be asleep within 10mins max) and asleep by 8/8.15. now it's a battle, we can't leave him as he'll get up and eventually start crying and screaming (if it was just playing I'd be fine to leave him) so we stay but it's taking hours, like last night we tried from 6.40 (he hadn't had a nap and looked very tired) he eventually fell asleep at 8.15! This is one of the easier nights, he been up till gone 9pm before now and very often. Now and then he'll get sleepy at 6pm and easily go to sleep (very rare), it makes no difference if he naps or not. Also he's up between 5 and 6am! Doesn't matter if he didn't sleep till gone 9 either! His room is quite dark so don't think it's that but could be wrong. He's just gotten very clingy. Anyone else going through this? Or been through something similar? It's killing us off! Will he ever go back to a good sleep routine?
