Family

I feel like a horrible mother.

I had my son 15 months ago and he is the love of my life. We worked really hard during my pregnancy for me to be able to quit my job and stay home with him. It was going so beautifully. In June, we had a major scare and had to take him to the hospital because he was having seizures and passing out and not breathing. He was in the ICU for several days. And it completely wrecked his sleep schedule and routine. He will not sleep through the night and wakes up with night terrors. The only way to help him get enough sleep is to have him sleep with me. And then he started walking and climbing and exploring and causing absolute chaos. Now I’m constantly burnt out, exhausted and, overwhelmed. Then we were cooped up due to extreme weather for several weeks. The tv is always one, I’m always checked out, and I’ve gained all the weight I worked really hard to lose.

I feel like he deserves better and that I’m doing him a disservice by being his mother.

Pregnancy Week by Week: First Trimester

2 under 2

I just found out that I’m pregnant again at 15 months postpartum. I’m gonna have another December baby. There’s a very high chance they’ll have the same birthday. I don’t know how to feel right now. I’m turning 22 in a few months. This is gonna be so hard. And I feel bad that I’ll be potentially giving birth when I’m supposed to be celebrating my daughter’s birthday. I don’t want her to feel like an afterthought.

Teething

correcting behavior

hi guys! I’m a first time teen mom, my daughter is 15 months old, she’s been super curious lately, which is good! But here lately she’s been hitting and putting everything in her mouth. I don’t know if this is normal? Or if it’s something that needs to be corrected. I’ve tried telling her no and trying to explain why it’s not okay to put things in her mouth, my mom says it’s because she’s missing a vitamin of some sort (?) I’m not sure how true this is. We just moved and dad’s been working a lot, I’m not sure if that would play a part in it. How do I correct this behavior?

Anyone else’s 15 month old not walking yet?

My daughter has been trying to pull herself up unassisted. Rarely is able to actually stand up without pulling on something. The PT she saw last week says to get her to cruising across furniture multiple times a day for hip strengthening and she’d contact me next month for an update. So, she has been doing that and although she tries to turn to face me/take steps towards me, she still unsteady. How are your little ones who can’t walk yet?

What age did you start giving LO corn nuts?

My mom has been giving my 15 month old daughter cornick/filipino deep fried crunchy corn nuts and I didn’t know til recently. She has also been giving her blueberries whole. Both, or at least, the whole blueberries are choking hazards. My mom knows I get visibly upset/anxious whenever she feeds my daughter anything i haven’t approved of (as she knows I should be). She even saw my bag of goldfish crackers and asked if they were for my daughter and I said “no, they’re for me” then proceeded to ask me why I didn’t want to give my daughter the gold fish crackers. As usual, I said because they’re not meltable and afraid she might choke on them.
