My daughter has mostly hated baths, although there have been a few times when she loved them. Even when my parents bathe her, she sometimes screeches the whole time.
They’ve always bathed her in the kitchen sink. My dad holds her while my mom pours the water and washes her with a washcloth, so it has basically been a two-person job. They’ll be leaving for six months in a few weeks, though, so I need to figure out how to bathe her by myself.
Yesterday, I brought out her little plastic tub and tried letting her play with the water first, but she wanted nothing to do with it—not even splashing or playing with her toys. Eventually, I put her in the actual bathtub and washed her with a wet, soapy washcloth, and she started crying.
Was I wrong to just go ahead and bathe her even though she was upset? Am I supposed to wait until she’s comfortable with the water? And for those with toddlers who really hate baths, how are you actually getting them bathed by yourself?

I would recommend trying to take a bath or shower with her. That helps my LO when she is feeling reluctant to take one.

My parents said I hated baths until they started doing them with me outside. My little ones love baths but my eldest hates getting water anywhere near his eyes.
I say if she doesn't mind it with a little bit of water, start there and gradually put more and more water in. A little water with you in there and maybe you can just play games at first just to reset how she feels about the tub.
She's she like bubbles? My December baby loves bubble bath. She also likes blowing bubbles in the bathtub and pouring cups.
You could also try maybe a bath doll/baby? My little one loves taking care of her baby doll and that might help your little one too.
Good luck! It's no fun having that wrestling match.
(Mine currently does not want me to put her in her car seat and actively pushes me away to try to climb into it. Sigh)

I shower with my girl. I bought a collapsible bath to throw in the shower with me and I wash myself first, then her because if I washed her first she would be pissed and want to get out. When I do myself first she can see and hear me narrate that I'm cleaning and that she'll do it soon too. And she has time to play with her toys that she loves. She loves her finger puppets so we bring those in the tub and wash them afterwards since she plays with them outside of the tub too.
What changing bags is everyone using for their little ones? Especially those formula feeding!
I’ve got the one that came with his travel system, but I’m fancying a new one — looking for something stylish but practical! I’d love to see what everyone else is using! 🤍

My 16 month old is only waking twice a night but for both those time she is suckling on me for 40 minutes and then I can’t transfer her to the cot so I’m in there for nearly an hour and then have to end up getting my husband to come in when she’s asleep enough to pass her to him, within 10/15 minutes of being in there he gets her down
I know two wake ups isn’t bad but being in there for so long is killing me and then because I’m so awake after that it’s really hard to get back to sleep.
The only answer is to stop the nursing back to sleep but she cries so much I can’t handle it, a few minutes feels like a life time 😩 I feel so trapped and fed up this is so so hard. I can deal with multiple wakes if she goes back down easily but this is torture
I wouldn’t even mind co sleeping but our bed is way too high and our mattress is very soft so it’s not safe and whenever we’ve tried anyway she just gets wide awake and thinks it’s play time 🤦🏻♀️

Omg I read about this but my second night at home with a newborn I’ve never experienced exhaustion like it. Last night in hospital I was in a different headspace and there was lots of support available at night. I’ve gone home today and my baby has been on my boob for hours. I’m sore, she won’t be laid in her crib and I’m struggling to my eyes open. When will this phrase be over and any suggestions on helpful strategies?

Anyone else’s little one just come alive at night time? I’m absolutely exhausted to the point I’m falling asleep during feeds. She sleeps most the day and then come evening she is wide awake, I don’t get her down until 1/2am every single night where she sleeps until 5:30am. From 6pm-1/2am it’s just constant feeds back to back and being very alert/fussy.
Any tips? Please tell me I’m not alone🤣🤣

Have we put our babies in their own rooms yet?? I know it’s recommended around 6 months but I don’t feel ready yet. Can someone educate me on why we are supposed to do it at this age??
