Have we put our babies in their own rooms yet?? I know it’s recommended around 6 months but I don’t feel ready yet. Can someone educate me on why we are supposed to do it at this age??

I moved my baby into her own room at 4 months old as she was waking herself up from not having enough space to moved about which was then waking us up. We was also waking her up when we was getting into bed ect.
I did naps in her cot for 2 months before this so she was use to the cot but it was the best thing I did. She sleep all night and moves around happily without waking up. Shes never in the same position I put her to bed in🤣

We are thinking about it within the next few weeks now that she is sleeping through.
I don’t want her to get too used to us being there and then it become impossible for her to be on her own.
I also think we wake her up sometimes when we go to bed so it might help her sleep through better 🤷🏽♀️
They’re just my personal opinions on it!

My only issue is that he’s still waking up 3 sometimes 4 times a night x

You're not supposed to move them until this age as it reduces the risk of SIDS. We will be moving our little boy next week when he is 6 months old into his 3 year old brothers room ❤️

As above, it’s just you have to wait until this age! Not that you have to do it at this age! If it doesn’t feel right, you can absolutely wait!

Take your time if you don’t feel you or baby are ready. It’s recommended not to move them before 6 months due to SIDS but that doesn’t mean you need to move them either. Personally, I moved both of mine around 6 months because we would wake them up when we went to bed but I would have kept them with me for longer if they were still waking up lots or sleeping well.

If you’re not ready don’t do it! I’m still in with my 24 month old 😂

As above, there is no recommendation to move them at 6 months, you just shouldn’t move them before 6 months as it increases the risk of SIDS.
Our girl is 7 months next week and we’re not moving her any time soon❤️
I like being able to check her in the night and she’s started waking up around 4/5am so more work for me having to go across to her room, instead of staying in bed and just bringing her in😅

Thanks everyone!!! I think I got confused with it being not recommended before 6 months to it being recommended you should at 6 months!! He is still waking a few times and like you guys say it’s more effort to get up and go in settle etc than just rolling over 🤣🤣xx

Nope, he’s still in the next to me but will soon be moving to his cot but in our room! I’m so not ready to move him out 😂

I moved my little girl into her own room at 5 and a half months because she’d got too heavy for her next to me and every time she moved it squeaked and woke her up! 😅 she went from waking pretty much every hour to only twice per night (sometimes 3) but overall we are all sleeping better! Everyone’s experience is different, it is just a recommendation and like everyone else has said if you don’t feel ready just take your time! X
What changing bags is everyone using for their little ones? Especially those formula feeding!
I’ve got the one that came with his travel system, but I’m fancying a new one — looking for something stylish but practical! I’d love to see what everyone else is using! 🤍

My baby is 4 months old, and for the past few weeks she has been waking almost every hour at night. She wants to breastfeed and then goes straight back to sleep.
During the day, she usually only naps for around 30 minutes. If I rock her back to sleep, sometimes she will continue sleeping, but other times she just stays awake.
What am I doing wrong? How can I change this, if it’s even possible? I’m exhausted. 😭

Omg I read about this but my second night at home with a newborn I’ve never experienced exhaustion like it. Last night in hospital I was in a different headspace and there was lots of support available at night. I’ve gone home today and my baby has been on my boob for hours. I’m sore, she won’t be laid in her crib and I’m struggling to my eyes open. When will this phrase be over and any suggestions on helpful strategies?

My 16 month old is only waking twice a night but for both those time she is suckling on me for 40 minutes and then I can’t transfer her to the cot so I’m in there for nearly an hour and then have to end up getting my husband to come in when she’s asleep enough to pass her to him, within 10/15 minutes of being in there he gets her down
I know two wake ups isn’t bad but being in there for so long is killing me and then because I’m so awake after that it’s really hard to get back to sleep.
The only answer is to stop the nursing back to sleep but she cries so much I can’t handle it, a few minutes feels like a life time 😩 I feel so trapped and fed up this is so so hard. I can deal with multiple wakes if she goes back down easily but this is torture
I wouldn’t even mind co sleeping but our bed is way too high and our mattress is very soft so it’s not safe and whenever we’ve tried anyway she just gets wide awake and thinks it’s play time 🤦🏻♀️

Anyone else’s little one just come alive at night time? I’m absolutely exhausted to the point I’m falling asleep during feeds. She sleeps most the day and then come evening she is wide awake, I don’t get her down until 1/2am every single night where she sleeps until 5:30am. From 6pm-1/2am it’s just constant feeds back to back and being very alert/fussy.
Any tips? Please tell me I’m not alone🤣🤣
